In this one-time class, we are going to listen and learn the information from the story, "Eyes That Kiss in the Corners" written by Joanna Ho (with permission from HarperCollins Children’s Books). This lyrical picture book tells a story about learning to love and celebrate your Asian-shaped eyes. The story teaches us that we are all beautiful in our own unique way. Be proud of your heritage and culture, and know that beauty stems in part from radiating confidence. After we finish the story, students need to complete a simple drawing and writing activity to celebrate who we are! Agenda: Ice-Breaker --- 5 minutes Read Aloud: Eyes That Kiss in the Corners --- 10 minutes Activity: Why am I me? --- 10 minutes Sharing --- 5 minutes
