英格蘭故事探索者第二部：英國童話與民間傳說

In this class, we will study the folklore and fairy tales from England and gain all the benefits of travel from the comfort of our own homes. Students in this class will learn popular and lesser-known English fairy and folk tales. Your child will learn to apply concepts from the core subjects of social studies, history, and literature. At the end of the lesson, we will develop critical thinking skills by discussing what learners think of specific characters, their actions, and their stories, followed by an analysis of what the stories tell us about the the people who invented them.

We will start with a brief overview of what makes English stories unique and what other cultures influenced their fairy tales. We will concentrate on stories that represent important traits and characteristics of English culture. Next, students will hear stories from different time periods and regions. We will focus on the locations of each of these stories and their lasting importance and influence. We close with students sharing and discussing their favorite story or figure from that week.

This is a stand-alone class and no previous knowledge or work is necessary, but Story Explorer England Part 1: English History, Legends, and Mythology pairs well with it.
