This will be an experimental class where students use their creativity and experience how chemistry causes the properties of an item to react when added to another. Students will observe reactions as the properties mix together. Students will make predictions, be amazed, their mindset will shift, and both discussion and thinking will be dynamic. Great experimental class! A wonderful hands-on lesson where students observe reactions as the properties of various items mix. Will will discuss gas, carbon dioxide, and how things dissolve. Students will develop theories, test their predictions, and discuss their findings as well as use an observation sheet to record and draw parts of the experiment.
I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school-math, reading and experimental science, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.

Please print observation sheet prior to class, will be posted a day prior to class date 3 large wine glasses OR 3 medium size mason jars cooking oil, about 1/2 cup for each of the three glasses or jars water about 1/3 cup for food coloring - three different colors 3 effervescent antacid tablets spoon paper towels
Student will be encouraged to be safe with all items, especially the glass wine glasses/mason jars.
