課堂經歷
NASA uses different robotic explorers in the solar system: landers, rovers, and satellites!! Each robotic explorer is used for very different purposes depending on the planet being observed. NASA refers to their satellites as their eyes of the solar system! In this hands on class, we will learn about satellites, what they are used for, where they are used, and the different parts of satellites. We will learn through a lesson, look at pictures and videos, and then your student will design...
Students will have a better understanding of what satellites are, how they function, their uses and structures. They will also learn about the engineering design process.
Children will need: Paper Pencil Scissors Markers Glue, can be hot glue or glue sticks. Elmer's glue will work but is not best for this. Not everything on the next list is required, just ideas for the child to collect around the house... Items for their design, this could include: An oatmeal canister/coffee can/ or anything that can be used for the main bus Aluminum foil Tooth picks Popsicle sticks Construction paper Toilet paper rolls (the cardboard only) Paper towel rolls (the cardboard only) Boxes (smaller boxes, like left possibly food packaging, or Kleenex) Pom Poms Straws Buttons
I believe in igniting the fire for the love of learning and meeting children where they are at. I also believe the best way to learn is through play, hands on experiments, and having fun. My favorite things to teach are STEM, Math, facilitating...
