In this camp, learners will be exposed to the engineering and design process (plan, create, test, improve) as they complete STEM challenges. Content areas, inclusive of: reading, writing, math and social studies, will be integrated throughout the week. Students will be presented with daily challenges and will be guided through the engineering and design process (EDP) as they work to solve the challenge. Learners can tell the steps of the engineering and design process. Learners will use problem solving to work through challenges. Learners will collaborate with others as they solve engineering challenges.
I am STEM certified by the state of Georgia and hold certification from the Buck Institute in PBL/STEM. I developed the STEM program at my local elementary school where I was the STEM Specials teacher for grades K-5. I lead Summer STEM camps at Georgia Tech University for students in grades 3-8.

On-going authentic assessment of learners will be provided daily via oral feedback and written feedback (upon request) to caregivers.提供的成績
Specific challenges for each camp along with material list will be shared in the classroom two weeks prior to the beginning of camp. If you enroll less than two weeks before camp the challenges and material list will be in the welcome message in the classroom.

Adult guidance and supervision is recommended for all activities. Learners will use scissors, glue sticks, and materials such as chenille stems (pipe cleaners) and toothpicks which may have a pointed end. A space such as a table or floor is recommended for activity completion so learners have ample space for working. Additional specific guidance will be suggested as needed for daily activities in the classroom notes and verbally in class.
