Hi all! My name is Hannah and I'm an experienced professional educator and creative in many fun fields! I have a BFA in Playwriting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (class of 2017). The bulk of my career has been focused in the world of podcasts, including producing shows for NPR and national brands like Storyworth and EA Games. I’m also a professional musician (vocals and bass!), aspiring illustrator and ceramic artist, and, of course, a teaching artist! And of course, I also love a video game or two! 

I’ve been working with young people since 2018. I taught singing and musicianship to students 8-18 at School of Rock Cleveland for five years and currently teach music classes to children ages 0-4! Working with kids has certainly been the highlight of my diverse range of professional experiences. I just love them so much!!! I’ll be teaching classes that prioritize connection and community along with exploring artistic impulses and creative thinking. I’ll also be placing an emphasis on honing students’ individual voice and building confidence in one’s ideas. 

For me, the most meaningful part of working with young people is creating secure individual connections with kids. You never know what’s going on in the life of a kid, and being a safe adult in their world is the highest honor I can receive. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community I like to think I’ve helped a lot of kids on their way to self-discovery, and again, that’s incredibly beautiful to me! 

I’m a big Zelda fan, a leo (cancer moon, aquarius rising, if you’re into this sort of thing!), am perhaps too-many-hours deep into Stardew Valley, and have a loooot of opinions on pop girls. I can't wait to meet your artist-in-residence!
