Class Structure: 
     📕 Welcome to class! 
          ~ All learners are individually greeted and welcomed to class. 
          ~ Your child’s safety in my classroom is of the utmost importance. **All learners must have working audio and video per Outschool’s safety and learner privacy policies. Students must turn their videos on at the beginning of each class to verify their identity. No exceptions will be made. If you have questions about this policy or are concerned about technical trouble before entering the classroom, please reach out to Outschool Support.  
     📕 Supply check-in: Let’s ensure you have what you need to succeed! 
          ~ Students must come to class prepared with two items — something to write with and something to write on.  
          ~ If your student plans to type their story during the second part of the class, they should come prepared with an open Google Doc or another word processor.  
     📕 What are we learning today?
          ~ Class learning goals and outcomes will be discussed. 
     📕 Discussion of class rules: 
          ~ Have fun
          ~ Do your best
          ~ Ask questions
          ~ Be respectful and kind to yourself and the other learners in our class.
     📕 Writing Prompts: 
          ~ I will provide relevant writing prompts that will be available for students to choose from.
     📕 Stand Out! Mini-Lesson: 
          ~ Students will participate in our weekly mini-lesson. 
  📕 Stand Out! Working Time:
          ~ After our mini-lesson, students can put their knowledge into practice, ask questions, and conference with the teacher. 
     📕 Share Time:
          ~ All interested students will have time to share what they have written during the class. Students will also be asked to share how they made their work Stand Out! today. 
     📕 Class Summary & Review: 
          ~ Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the lesson, their writing, etc. 
     📕 See you next time! 

Other Important Things to Note: 
- The current week’s lesson will be posted no later than 6 pm EST Sunday. This will provide an optional opportunity for students to watch the lesson before coming to class. It will also allow you to stay caught up on your own time if your learner needs to miss a class.
- At the end of each section, students will be asked to send their work to Ms. Lindsay for feedback. Weekly feedback is also available.
