💫This is a one-time class that can be taken multiple times. Come once, or come often! Welcome to an exciting old-fashioned spelling bee designed just for young learners! This class is a fun and educational way for children to practice spelling, strengthen their vocabulary, and build confidence in a supportive and friendly environment. The spelling bee will feature age-appropriate words, beginning with simple ones and gradually increasing in difficulty to match students’ abilities. Learners will take turns spelling aloud while receiving positive reinforcement and helpful tips to boost their skills. No one gets left behind—friendly hints and encouragement are available to ensure all participants feel successful. While the focus of the class is on having fun and learning, students will also gain important life skills, such as perseverance, and teamwork. Learning Goals: ✔️Improve spelling and pronunciation of age-appropriate words. ✔️Spell words phonetically, drawing on phonemic awareness and spelling conventions. ✔️Build confidence in public speaking and participating in group activities. ✔️Develop a positive mindset towards learning and self-improvement. ✔️Practice good sportsmanship and encourage classmates with kindness. 📌Materials Needed: Writing materials (paper and pencils) 🤩This is a great class for children who love words, enjoy friendly competition, or want to build their spelling skills in a fun and supportive setting. No prior spelling bee experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm. Let’s have fun spelling together!

I have been teaching for more than 25 years with the Toronto District School Board (🍁Canada). My Ontario College of Teachers Certificate number is #286618. I attended Dalhousie University for my Bachelor of Music in Performance, and then Brock University for my Bachelor of Education. I studied classical piano from the age of 5 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While in University, I performed as a Mezzo-Soprano in the Dalhousie Chorale.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught K-12 Music, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2, Health and Physical Education. I have conducted choirs and musical ensembles for seasonal public performances throughout all of these years of teaching. I have always continued to advance my skills by taking additional qualifications courses and am very proud to be a Reading Specialist.
In 2020, I created K5 Hidden Peak Education. K5HPE proudly creates virtual resources to support the development of literacy, math, arts, health and physical education.
