In this weekly club, learners will have a chance to show their spelling skills while participating in a fun and light-hearted competition. We use the Scripps Spelling Bee word list to help prepare learners for any future formal competitions they would like to participate in. 

The Spelling Bee will be judged according to the number of words spelled correctly. We will not eliminate learners when a word is misspelled. This is to ensure everyone can participate throughout the entire class.  Learners will also be given words from the level selected by the parent (see below). 

Our goal is to help your learner practice their spelling and public speaking skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Although a winner will be declared at the end of each class, the focus is more on encouraging everyone to be able to speak up and speak clearly in any situation.

Parents: Please review the welcome email to see the word list. Then, let us know which level to use for your child. We will adjust accordingly if it seems to easy or too hard.  If you have a specific word list you are using at home, feel free to send that over and we can use it instead.
