Students will meet 2 times as week for 45 minutes. The class will have interactive games and depending on class size there will be group activities as well. Each week students will have a different spelling list and learn new grammar rules. 

My goal is to find patterns where students are struggling and adjust lessons to fit their needs and support them with individual homework assignments that fit their needs. 

When a student first joins they will be given a diagnostic spelling and grammar test so I can see what areas they need help in.  Based off of the results of the class we will then begin weekly lessons. See below for examples.

Here is a sample week:

*Tuesday: Pre-Test and Grammar Lesson
- Students will be given a pre-test on 10-15 words. Words may carry over from a previous week if a student got the wrong answer on the actual test the week before. 
- Students will be presented with a new grammar topic. We may cover topics such as parts of speech, punctuation, capitalization, singular vs plural, pronouns, synonyms/antonyms, ABC order, sentence types. Complete sentences, tenses, etc.

*Thursday: Supporting/Review Spelling and Grammar activities, Weekly Test
 Students will play games with or against each other that support learning the topics of the week. Example games include BattleShip, Hangman, Bingo, Memory, Beat the Teacher, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, etc.
- Followed by the review students will receive  an opportunity to ask questions before taking the test.
