One week, 5 classes of basic 3D modeling. How to create basic shapes, and move, rotate, and scale them. How to apply basic colors and textures to your shapes. We will quickly build and modify all kinds of objects, including a 3D character. Learn to navigate through Maya, a powerful 3D modeling and animation tool widely used in the entertainment industry. No previous 3D experience is necessary. You can download the (normally very expensive) software for free as a student, use this link: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/maya

Autodesk allows students to download Maya for free. There is a one-year license available for students whose school is recognized. (Sometimes this takes some time for the process to be completed.) Or you can do a free one-month trial, which is easy to set up, but requires a credit card. You will need to cancel this before 1 month passes to avoid a charge on the card.

Chuck Butler has been drawing his whole life. He has taught drawing and cartooning for pre-schoolers, elementary students, and high-schoolers. He has illustrated several children's books using both digital and hand-drawn artwork, as well as comic strips and advertisements. For those unaccustomed to cartoon drawing, Chuck introduces basic symbols for help in creating people, animals, backgrounds, and special effects. In addition to drawing, Chuck has made art and animations for video games, and currently teaches 3D modeling and animation. 評論
