Week 1
1.	Respond to greetings and greet others
2.	Name self and others, and ask the names of others, using the proper form of "llamar". 
3.	Count from numbers 1 to 50

Week 2
1.	Review key vocabulary from Unit 1 including numbers, adjectives, nouns, and verbs
2.	Utilize the present indicative and past imperfect tense of the verbs "llamar" when describing self and others
3.	Count from numbers 50 to 75

Week 3 
1.	Formulate questions and conduct an interview incorporating the imperfect forms of estar 
2.     Describe the community and give directions from one location to another using target vocabulary
3.	Count from numbers 75 to 90


Week 4
1.	Venezuela: Conjugate target verbs in the present tense
2.    Puerto Rico: Write and present one descriptive paragraph using adjectives about a Hispanic country, people, transportation, and landmarks of Hispanic countries and around town. 
3.	Count from numbers 90 to 100

This is a series of units for students who are beginner Spanish students. The class will include interactive ongoing lessons of listening, repeating, and guided practice, songs, poems, video clips, and reviews. When students use two ears to listen, two eyes to focus, and one mouth to speak, they make progress. Spanish is easier than they usually think because many words and phrases are shared or taken from the English language or have common roots. These words are called cognates and we will use cognates as a steppingstone to unknown words. Students need a pen and a folder to organize the attached handouts.
