Students will demonstrate appropriate online school social skills and peer interactions with 80% success as measured by the successful participation rubric.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, a Masters of Education in Technology and Learning, and a Master of Arts in English Language Learning. I am a licensed special education teacher in the state of Florida and currently teach academics for students with autism and other learning differences in a therapeutic setting.

Students will be provided with a weekly theme for what they are to bring to class to share with other students each week. For example, one week will be "bring your favorite stuffed animal" week and students will be asked to show their favorite stuffed toy or a picture of it and talk about it.  The next week could be "wear your favorite shirt week" or "bring your favorite socks to class week."  The class themes will be chosen based upon n the age-range of the class, developmental ability, and interests (obsessions, fascinations).

There is not a formal assessment. However, a rubric can be provided upon request so that parents can track their students' participation in the class and know whether or not the child is appropriately engaged in learning. Learning targets will be included.

I will use YouTube music and videos at times that are appropriate for students' developmental levels, in order to elicit participation and conversation. I have permission from the YouTube creators to use their material. 
I use Signing Exact English but only as needed and if a nonverbal student knows to use it. However, I do sign "stop" and "no" and other simple directives from time to time. 
I use PECs as needed and other visual prompts.
