Aspects of language comprehension studied in this class include background knowledge, vocabulary, oral language and text structure. I have been instructing young learners in early literacy for over a decade, and currently hold a teaching license in the state of Ohio in grades Preschool-3rd Grade, with a Generalist endorsement for Grades 4-5, and Reading Preschool-12th Grade. I have also received training in Fountas and Pinnell, Orton-Gillingham, Heggerty, Core Knowledge Language Arts, and DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills). I am currently receiving training in LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling).
