課堂經歷
This is a social club for students to get together and make slime. In this class, we will rotate through my 40 different slime recipes. I will guide students through making slime by on-camera, live demonstration. The ingredients for the particular slime the instructor will make will be posted in the classroom each week on Monday. You can use what I am using, choose your own add ins or make a basic slime recipe. Part of the fun in making slime is in combining the ingredients. We will not simply be combining proportions as in cooking a recipe or chemistry. Slime is flexible and artistic. I will teach students to gauge readiness by things like the glue starting to stick together, becoming harder to stir and finally pulling away from the bowl. I keep my class sizes small to allow students to be able to talk freely as long as they do not talk over each other and are kind in their words. I like for students to keep their screen on gallery view so that they can see their classmates and the work of their classmates as well. Students can click on any particular screen if they need to zoom in. I prefer teaching ongoing classes that meet every week where students are able to get to know each other over time. Occasionally, I will need to cancel class as late as the night before due to family and work obligations. If this may be an issue, please consider it before enrolling. Week of January 1st Reindeer Slime Week of January 8th Cloud Slime Week of January 15th Rainbow Slime Week of January 22nd Glass Slime CLASS RULES All of my classes have the same classroom rules: Be kind to each other Don’t speak over others Allow everyone a chance to speak Mute yourself if you have background noise so we can hear each other You do not have to raise your hand to speak but if someone is speaking and you’d like to speak, raise your hand so I know to call on you next CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT It detracts from student class enjoyment and my ability to effectively teach when students do not follow the class rules. Students who do not follow the class rules will be corrected (muted in extreme cases) and reminded of the class rules 3 times each class before being sent to the waiting room. If a student is sent to the waiting room, a message will be sent to the parent after class about the classroom issues with the student. If a student is sent to the waiting room during 2 classes, the student will be withdraw from class.

I enjoy incorporating educational opportunities into fun activities. For example, my Girls’ Coloring Social Club hides science, geography, social studies, arts, communication and history.
My teaching style preference is a homeschool approach emphasizing respectful for the child by allowing children to speak during classes rather than instituting abject muting. Students are treated like they and their ideas are important. Students are able to learn proper socialization skills over time through this teaching method.
Occasionally, I will need to cancel class with only a few days notice to travel for work or to meet family responsibilities. If this may be an issue, please consider it before enrolling.
CLASS RULES
All of my classes have the same classroom rules:
Be kind to each other
Don’t speak over others
Allow everyone a chance to speak
Mute yourself if you have background noise so we can hear each other
You do not have to raise your hand to speak but if someone is speaking and you’d like to speak, raise your hand so I know to call on you next
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
It detracts from the learning experience of students and from my teaching when I have a student attending classes who refuses to adhere to the class rules.
Noncomplying students will be corrected (muted in extreme cases) and reminded of the class rules 3 times each class before being sent to the waiting room. If a student is sent to the waiting room, a message will be sent to the parent after class about the classroom issues with the student. If a student is sent to the waiting room during 2 classes, the student will be withdrawn from class.
