I will begin each lesson with a sketching exercise. This helps learners feel like they have a quick win, while also helping them practice basic strokes. Then, we will choose a project together from the world of animals and nature. This will be the main project we are working to complete. We can adjust and change depending on the learner's interests and needs.

I am a very encouraging, curiosity-driven teacher. I believe that art is more about the process and less about the product.

I want to teach kids how to use draw and sketch because it is a powerful, lifelong tool. If they can trace anything well, that helps them break down the lines and understand it better. If they can draw from a reference picture, they can move into realistic artwork and eventually into fulfilling art briefs for future clients. And most importantly, if they can sketch from their imagination, they can express themselves by creating beautiful worlds for themselves and others to enjoy.
