Silly Reading With Ms. Joanna In this class, we will discover or continue our love for reading. We will read books that promote self-confidence and kindness toward others and ourselves. These books will also teach us life lessons in an age-appropriate way. To begin the class, we will greet one another and I will introduce the reading for the class. These reading sessions are meant to teach the joy of reading. Rhyming stories will be read as songs. Each character’s words will be read in a different voice that shows their personality. The pictures will be used to help readers follow along with the words. We will review story elements, identify character traits, make textual connections, and understand characters’ motivations, and the varied life lessons we learn from reading stories. The stories chosen will help young readers develop compassion for others, self-love, and confidence.
