Show and Tell Pet Club - Building Communication Skills. Learners will enjoy talking about their pet, socializing with others, building their communication skills and learning how to feel confident in a group setting. Learners will bring a pet to class that they can talk about. We will discuss type of pet, age of pet, name of pet, etc. Learners will engage in conversation by answering questions, taking turns and listening to each others stories about their beloved pet. If you don't have a pet yet, learners can still join in and learn what pet might be best for them. This pet club is designed to allow kids time to socialize, feel confident in talking and building their communication skills while having fun in a safe environment. There will be enough class time for each learner to participate and answer or ask questions regarding the pets that are in class. Weekly discussions will be based on learner led topics that will help to improve communication skills. Practicing our listening skills, taking turns to speak, asking and answering questions are all ways to help build confidence and improve communication skills. Learners will have the opportunity to learn about other types of pets and what goes into taking care of each animal that comes to class. This class is perfect for any pet owner wanting to share and learn about pets of different breeds and sizes. *Pets can be any size as long as the learner can bring them into our Live Zoom classroom safely. This class is inclusive and everyone is welcome.
