In this 4 week course, students will meet twice weekly to practice writing sentences from dictation with a focus on spelling patterns and rules, commonly confused words, homophones, and Grammar/Usage/Punctuation.  Each class will have a set of focus skills, and at the beginning of the class, we will review each rule, pattern, and discuss the homophones that will be present in the sentences.  Students will be given a sentence orally and will be expected to write it correctly on a whiteboard (whiteboards are easier to see over the video camera).  Our class goal will be to write and discuss ten sentences for each lesson.  These classes will be casual and comfortable and students are able to ask for the sentences to be repeated as many times as necessary.  Students will be provided with the complete sentence list for reference at the end of each class if they'd like further practice.  The teacher will address any student misconceptions and use class time for instruction on difficult skills.  If your learner enjoys this course, there will be future sessions provided that cover new rules and focus skills!  These classes are a great way to improve your writing skills.
