課堂經歷
美國等級 4 - 6
My Teaching Methodology and Practice I believe the point of teaching is the learning process. My teaching method uses a combination of several elements, with attention to the age group of the class, in order to make the learning process as strong as possible. I include a PowerPoint presentation, a text (that I summarize - usually the 3 main points), personal stories to make either a good point or to make the wrong choice clear, occasionally I used a brief video clip to introduce the topic,...
1. Students learn to use Adler's 4-levels of reading and comprehension technique. 2. Easily identify the 3 main points of a fiction and nonfiction book is relatively easy with mildly complex books. 3. Exposure to 5 of the most significant books for teens. 4. Character lessons from the books - highlighted in each class. 5. Students are capable to teach another person the Adler 4-Levels of reading technique.
I have been teaching the Adler reading technique since it revolutionized my reading (and learning) more than 20 years ago with students and adults. I have more than 40 years of teaching experience in public education and within the nonprofit sector. I was a homeschool Dad teaching my sons for 6+ years. I have written a few articles about using this technique and am happy to share this with parents. I’m a big believer that parents and students working in tandem creates the most successful environment for a student’s success. I use a literature-based teaching approach. A carefully chosen book is picked for every class to expose students to great books and lessons. These books are the best available in the category whether best sellers of college/grad school required reading. They are all very readable. They are not required reading but recommended.
