Hello, I'm Catherine De'Ath, your Outschool guide to exciting learning adventures! As an experienced educator, I'm dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered. From interactive lessons to thought-provoking discussions, my classes are designed to ignite curiosity and foster critical thinking skills. I have been teaching for more than 25 years with the Toronto District School Board (🍁Canada). My Ontario College of Teachers Certificate number is #286618. I attended Dalhousie University for my Bachelor of Music in Performance, and then Brock University for my Bachelor of Education. I studied classical piano from the age of 5 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While in University, I performed as a Mezzo-Soprano in the Dalhousie Chorale.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught K-12 Music, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2, Health and Physical Education. I have conducted choirs and musical ensembles for seasonal public performances throughout all of these years of teaching. I have always continued to advance my skills by taking additional qualifications courses and am very proud to be a Reading Specialist. 

In 2020, I created K5 Hidden Peak Education. K5HPE proudly creates virtual resources to support the development of literacy, math, arts, health and physical education.

It is my passion and joy to make learning fun and engaging for all of my students. With personalized attention and a sprinkle of humor, I'm here to guide you on a journey of discovery and growth. I look forward to meeting you here on Outschool!
