In this course students will learn how to write a compelling pilot episode -- he first episode of a television show or web series, which serves as a test run for the series -- for a TV show or web series and improve their writing skills in a fun and engaging way. Through the process of writing a screenplay, students will develop and strengthen their storytelling abilities, while learning to create well-defined characters, plotlines, and settings. They will also work on writing believable...
Understanding the essential components of a pilot episode, including character introductions, setting, and a compelling premise that hooks the audience. Developing skills in storytelling, character development, plot structure, dialogue, and pacing in the context of writing a successful pilot episode. Learning how to give and receive feedback on writing, and using feedback to improve one's own writing skills and the quality of the pilot episode. Building confidence in writing and exploring one's creativity while working in a fun and supportive environment. Completing an original and polished pilot episode for a TV show or web series, ready to be pitched and shared with the world.
This class is taught by a professional writer who has written for web series and television.
