課堂經歷
Want to meet other Scratchers and coding enthusiasts? Here is a weekly, ongoing social class where you can share and connect with other coders. This social group class is geared to any learner who loves to create games on Scratch. Recommended for intermediate and advanced coders but all are welcome. If you have a game to share, we want to see it! Please be aware that we will not be coding Scratch in this Scratch social club. We will be showcasing and sharing our already created projects. Everyone will have opportunity to proudly showcase one game and share the inspiration behind their creation. Other learners will be using active listening and share their positive feedback. Each social group class will be learner-led and unique. Game links will be shared in our class Zoom chat prior to the end of our group class giving learners opportunity to replay or even remix favorite games. Since this class is ongoing, you will gather new ideas, share new projects, and build lasting friendships. Let's connect and showcase our coding talent! Please use coupon code LEWISCHAT3 to save $3 on your first class.

Two monitors are highly recommended so you can have the Scratch website open will being able interact with the group on Zoom. This will not work if you are using two different devices because you need to be able to share the Scratch website on your computer. It is possible to have windows resized so you can see both Scratch and Zoom. You would open both programs, then arrange their windows side by side. Make sure that they are not covering each other. This way you can use both Zoom and Scratch easily with each window next to each other like two side by side pictures.
Feel free to send me a message with your project link prior to our class. Projects must be appropriate for all learners and not have excessive use of weapons, gore content, or foul language. Our group feedback to each project must be kind and positive. This is safe space for students to share. If learners want to view and test other learners' games and not share their project, that is completely acceptable. Learners may also opt to have Teacher Michelle share their link and not discuss . Peer interactionis highly encouraged but in this Scratch social class, we respect all students' wishes when it come to speaking to the group.

You should be signed in to our Scratch account prior to our class. If you do not have a Scratch please https://scratch.mit.edu. The account must be confirmed by a parent in order to save your work.

A computer desktop or laptop is preferred for coding. Tablets and iPads don't always work properly with some of the games on Scratch. The device used for coding must have a keyboard. It is preferred that learners screen share from the device accessing Scratch using Outschool Zoom screen share. All levels of Scratch learners are welcome but if learners plan to share their projects, they must have completed a project. Students need to create a free, online Scratch account prior to meeting. A parent will need to confirm this account for the learner to be able to save their project. Https://scratch.mit.edu
