課堂經歷
美國等級 1 - 3
In this 4 unit self-paced class, students will learn about 4 science concepts (buoyancy, solubility, magnetism, density) through simple science experiments. The part 2 class can be completed before or after this one! Each unit will include 1-2 videos (containing the lesson of the week and step by step directions on how to do the experiment.) There will be a worksheet posted to go along with the experiment. Here is the breakdown of the units: Unit 1: Density Rainbows Unit 2: Buoyancy Dancing...
4 lessons//4 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1DensityIn this lesson, students will study to concept of density. They will learn how this relates to sinking and floating through a simple hands-on activity. Students will explore this concept further by creating density rainbows.Week 2Lesson 2BuoyancyIn this lesson, students will study to concept of buoyancy. They will test out this concept with a basic exercise. Students will learn about different objects that are buoyant and will test this out with an orange experiment. Next, students will complete the Dancing Raisins experiment. The lesson will finish with a buoyancy sorting game.Week 3Lesson 3SolubilityIn this lesson, students will study to concept of solubility. They will first learn the science terminology related to the lesson. Ms. Erin will explain a few optional science experiments that students can try out after class. Next, Ms. Erin will help the students set up their charts for the main experiment. Finally, students will complete the solubility experiment and record their data.Week 4Lesson 4MagnetismIn this lesson, students will study to concept of magnetism. Students will learn all about how magnets work. Throughout the lesson, Ms. Erin will show the students exciting experiments they can try out using magnets at home. Ms. Erin will help the students set up their charts for the main experiment. Finally, students will complete the magnetism experiment and record their data.

*If you are missing any of these supplies, just let me know and we can come up with alternatives. Unit 1: Density Rainbows A tall glass Different "liquids." Here are some examples. You do not need all of these, but I recommend using at least 3 or 4: Honey Maple syrup Corn syrup Dish soap Water Juice Oil Vinegar Rubbing alcohol You may also like to bring food coloring, a spoon, and paper towels. Unit 2: Buoyancy Dancing Raisins A clear glass Raisins A clear carbonated drink (sprite, 7up, ginger ale, club soda) Optional: 1 small orange (clementine/ tangerine) Unit 3: Solubility Discovery A small scoop of any of these items: Sugar Salt Pepper Baking soda/powder Spices Flour Rice Beans Pasta Vanilla Food coloring You will also need one cup and spoon per chosen item and towels in case there are any spills! Unit 4: Magical Magnetism Paper and a pencil Magnets (fridge magnets, magnetic toys, etc...) Paper clips A metal coin A few little toys (they don't have to be magnetic.) Pipecleaners (if you have. No need to buy any) Scissors A clear cup/jar Water
