課堂經歷
In this 3 week class, learners will learn 3 of the most important skills necessary for school success. I teach all 3 of these skills individually but decided to combine them for a combined class! Each week will focus on a specific skill, and each one will show how connected all 3 skills are. There is a Class Notes Guide attached to the Welcome Email to help your learner get all of the important information. During week one of the class, students will learn all about different kinds of planners and how to choose the best one for them. They will also learn about how to use them effectively as well as extra information to help them be prepared and follow their plans. Students will spend the few weeks using a planner or schedule to test their new skill and see what works for them. During week two of the class, students will learn how to take incredible notes. We will go through various formats and when to use them. We will discuss efficient shorthand and practice their favorite format. Students should work to implement these skills during the week before our next class. During week 3 of the class, students will learn valuable study skills to help them succeed and reduce test anxiety by being prepared. The first thing we do is discuss the different studying styles and help learners determine their style. Then we will cover studying in formats that are suited to all learning and studying styles. Students will leave this class fully equipped to plan, take notes, and study their way to classroom success!

Hello! My name is Miss Izzy and I was definitely born to teach. I have a General Studies degree that covers topics such as teaching and learning, psychology, and humanities. Learning can, and should, be a lot of fun! I am always excited about trying something new, and I love to help others learn new things as well. I, myself, was a very interesting student, and that really helps me to be able to cater to a large variety of learning styles. I am more than happy to accommodate all students to the best of my ability. I believe that learning should be equitable and accessible to every student who has the desire to learn. I offer a variety of classes such as Greek Mythology, Beginner Spanish, Reading Tutoring, and School/Life Skills.
I have lived in Guatemala off and on for a little over 9 years, and it taught me so much more about teaching in various ways. I also operate a nonprofit in Guatemala that works in a rural village educating those who do not always have the opportunity to attend school.
Before I started teaching online, I worked for a national literacy non-profit as a Site Coordinator and a tutor. I worked with both elementary students learning to read and helped train the volunteers that came in to tutor them.
I have 2 delightful dogs who love to snuggle with, Sammie and Odyss, and I really am so excited to be your teacher!評論
