After reaching out to the Barton Company and receiving permission, I am pleased to offer my one-on-one dyslexia reading tutoring on Outschool. The Barton Program is a carefully developed, research-supported, multi-sensory program for teaching dyslexics to read and write. We will work together one-on-one. Commitment is the key. Remediating dyslexia takes time. I'm committed for the long term. Typically it takes at least three months for parents to start seeing improvement and one to three years to catch up to grade level.  

This is an on-going class. The first three or four lessons will be spent getting to know each other. I will use screening and testing tools to assess the student's abilities and needs. I will show you my teaching materials and help you understand the Barton Program. Along with Barton I usually improve and support phonemic awareness skills with The Heggerty Program or UFLI Foundations. We will use online color and letter tiles, as well as ebooks and games to support learning. 

I will be able to provide practice material for the parent to work on with the student as soon as the student is past level 1. I have nine levels of this program, which can last three years or more. I look forward to helping your student on their reading journey!
