From words to sentences to stories, we will learn the skills needed to be successful readers! My goal is to create an environment where students can take risks, have fun, and become lifelong readers!
Foundational Skills:
*Concepts of Print (e.g., first word, capitalization, ending punctuation)
*Phonemic Awareness
*Phonics & Word Recognition
*First Grade Sight Words
*Fluency
*Reading Comprehension
*Oral Listening/Storytelling
We will meet once a week for 30 minutes. We will be covering the standards and skills for 1st-grade reading.
- Diagraphs (th, ch, sh, ph, wh):
Phonemic Awareness - Identifying final sounds
Reading and Comprehension questions w/digraph stories
Reading & Writing1st Grade Sight-Words
Listening Comprehension

Hello! My name is Brigitta Voss. I have a passion for kids, teaching, and living a healthy life. I have a degree in Child & Adolescent Development, a teaching credential for elementary education, as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications. I have been an educator for 20 years in many capacities. From school classrooms, online classrooms, and to the outdoors, I have enjoyed inspiring and teaching students of all ages. I would like to help your child become a lifelong learner by creating fun and engaging classes. It is important for me to create a classroom where students feel comfortable taking risks and participating. This will help each and every student make progress and reach their own goals.
I am also a wife, mother of 2, athlete, and coach. In my free time, I love cooking healthy meals, camping, hiking, and mountain biking.
