I will prepare to teach the students the essential standards needed, for learning to read, or to improve their reading, writing and spelling skills.

WK 1. Phonics, independent practice that helps students learn key phonics.
WK 2. Practicing phonics through word building.
WK 3. Practicing super words, through word building.
WK 4. Putting letters together to form words.
WK 5. Word ladders, phonic skills that help to boost students reading, writing and spelling confidence. 
WK 6. Sentence building, using sight word builders.  
WK 7. Word families; will be introduced to enforce reading readiness.
WK 8. Let's read.


I will structure my class in a classroom setting.

I will teach my class, by introducing the topics for the week and we will begin with those topics on a weekly basis. I will introduce new words to them and have them recite those words back to me, for proper pronunciation.

My teaching style is standard, just like the students are familiar with in school.

The learners will interact with me, in every class setting, with discussions on phonics, using their (a b c's), rhyming words, consonants, short vowel sounds, such as, (a e i o u), that they've learned and stringing words together, to make sentences, so that they can start reading. Sometimes I will show slides, or we can play some games, with activities in reading.

The learners will need some foundational reading skills, such as (1) Print Concepts; where the learners will need to know that words in print, runs from left to right and that words are groups of letters separated by space.  (2) Phonological Awareness; to have the ability to orally identify and manipulate the sound of words, syllables and speech.  (3) Phonics and Word Recognition skills, which includes analyzing multisyllabic words into small meanings of words.  (4) Fluency, the ability to read connected text automatically.
