This is an ongoing class that meets once per week. The materials and content will cycle once the book has been fully read. Students are welcome to join at any lesson! The classes do not build off of lessons previous to them. I always begin class by introducing any background knowledge needed to engage in the current lesson. Students will improve cursive reading fluency, increase comprehension, build rich vocabulary, and learn to use context clues while reading to gain meaning. (Middle School Reading Level: 6th, 7th & 8th grade students: 5th grades students may join upon parent request) Common Core Aligned National ELA Standards (Grades 4-8): Build Fluency, Make Inferences, Draw Conclusions, Deduce Meaning, Comprehension, Context Clues, Determine Synonyms & Antonyms of Vocabulary, Demonstrate Understanding of Words, Summarize, Comprehend, Explain, and Recognize Figurative Language in Passages, Context, Word Relationships, Nuances in Word Meanings.

*There are no supplies needed for this course, but it is a prerequisite that students have previously studied cursive. This is an 'advanced' class to practice becoming 'fluent readers in cursive.' We will briefly review a cursive letters chart as a general review, before reading each week.
