Reading is an essential skill to obtain! In this course, my goal is to have your child become a fluent reader, but first, they need to master the foundation of reading. The foundation of reading all steers back to the early fundamental reading elements such as phonemic awareness. 

What is the phonemic awareness?
- Its the ability to identify, hear, and manipulate sounds. 
-Main focuse is on phonemes/sounds
-Deals with spoken language 
-Mostly auditory 
Hear the language and play with it. 


Why is it important? phonemic awareness is central in learning to read and spell. 

All children can benefit from being taught directly how to break up spoken words into smaller units and how letters represent  sounds.

1.Increasing language awareness

3. Identifying onset
4.Blending
5. Identifying final and medical phonemes
6.Segmenting 
7. Substituting phonemes
8. Adding phonemes
