In this class students will be taught the fundamentals of reading beginning with letters. This class is a group class. It is the perfect class for children wanting to get a “jump start” on reading in a public school setting or home school students who are just beginning to read. It can also serve as a refresher for students who are struggling with reading. Each session will include interactive activities as well as games and additional exercises to help learners practice the things they learn each week. I strive to create a warm and welcoming classroom where student s feel comfortable and are excited to learn. This is a beginner class for students who have never read before or who are just getting started and need a little additional help. We will work on learning letters and sound correspondence, phonological and phonemic awareness, high frequency words, decodable texts, leveled texts and reading. Worksheets will also be included with each week’s lesson. Hello there!
I love teaching students of all ages! I have over 20 years experience teaching students ranging in age from 4 to college level students. I strive to create a fun and engaging classroom where each student is eager to learn and participate. My mission is to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
My areas of expertise are communications and public speaking, but I love teaching science and animal related courses and helping students work on their reading skills. I currently travel around the country doing test prep classes for high school students.
I also have a passion for teaching younger students how to read. I have my ESL certification, a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Business Management from Tusculum University.
I live in beautiful East Tennessee with my husband Chris, one bunny, three golden doodles and a yorkie!評論
