In this ongoing class, we will practice reading fluency using first and second-grade fiction and nonfiction passages. I will use different strategies such as model, group, echo, and reciprocal reading to increase fluency. This class is the perfect "next step" for my learners who have already taken my other reading classes and are ready for more of a challenge! We will have timed reading challenges that my learners love using a first read (cold read) and a second read (hot read) but don't...
Learners will gain confidence as they improve their rate and accuracy in reading first and second-grade fiction and nonfiction passages.
Stories will be uploaded to the classroom each week the day before class. I recommend printing these stories so students can continue their reading practice throughout the week from class to class.
