How have women’s rights evolved over time? Why is it important to study women’s history? In this dynamic reading class, students will explore the stories of trailblazing women who have shaped history by overcoming obstacles and challenging gender roles. Through compelling stories from Scholastic Scope magazines, we will dive into the journeys of courageous women who fought for change and helped redefine society’s expectations.

Each class begins by reading a new story about an inspiring trailblazer. Students analyze and discuss key themes like women’s rights, overcoming adversity, and challenging societal norms. After reading, students complete a writing activity that helps reinforce comprehension skills and encourages thoughtful reflection.


Students will learn how to analyze text evidence and make inferences. They will expand their vocabulary, improve reading fluency, and strengthen their reading comprehension strategies for understanding main ideas and details.
