𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 and strong reading skills are the foundation for success in every subject. We teach students how to be reading detectives to find the clues necessary to become confident readers. However, learning doesn't stop in class, we provide additional practice and ongoing parent communication. Don't let them fall behind! Get started today and save $3 with code LEARNIPFJG3. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Boost your child’s confidence and motivation. Improve their ability to understand and enjoy what they read. Prepare them for high school and beyond. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀: Proven strategies to build comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. A nurturing environment where they can thrive. In this course, students will practice reading aloud (fluency), learn new vocabulary (context clues practice), learn and practice reading comprehension strategies for a better understanding of the main idea, details, inference skills, character analysis, figurative language, author's purpose, and more. This class is interactive with a lot of student engagement. Each session begins with an introduction to a particular reading comprehension strategy. After the skill introduction, we will practice the skill by reading teacher-provided stories together. Students will take turns reading round-robin style throughout the lesson and answering questions. As students read, we will assist them as needed with pronunciation, fluency, and proper reading techniques. The class uses 6th-grade reading material and is appropriate for advanced 5th graders, on-level 6th graders, or 7th graders needing more help. After each class, we provide you with an overview of what was covered in class along with questions you can use to engage your student about the class. Communication with you is important. We will provide feedback about your student every few classes and encourage you to reach out to us at any time. With that being said, please make sure you have your communication settings turned on in the Outschool settings so you will be notified when correspondence is sent. We teach "Practice Makes Progress!" This practice is not graded by use, but the answers will be included for you (the parent or guardian) allowing you to assess the student at home as well. We are friendly, encouraging, and passionate teachers who meet each student exactly where they are. This class is designed to meet over the school year. We start the class in September and wrap up in May (then offer a short summer review course from June - August). However, you can jump in and out at any time. Although topics repeat several times, we use different materials in each class. Therefore no matter when they join the class, they can stay enrolled for a year's worth of classes. Happy Reading! Happy Learning! Looking for more reading practice? Check out our book clubs were we encourage a love of reading!
