This is a great course for students who are new to acting and anyone who loves Roald Dahl's books. Students will learn voice acting and characterization with the added benefit of increasing both reading fluency and comprehension. No memorization is required. Students will exercise what they have learned by performing Reader's Theater versions of Roald Dahl books. Each class will begin with vocal warmups. Week 1 - Introduction to the process of Reader's Theater. Students are assigned roles...
1. Students will learn the process of Reader's Theater. 2. Students will learn how to create different character voices through pitch, rate, inflection, and expression. 3. Students will learn how to create an interesting and believable environment for a listening audience. 4. Students are encouraged not to worry about small mistakes and just keep going. The show must go on!
