In this ongoing class, learners will use exciting and engaging readers from the "Whole Phonics" series to increase reading speed and fluency. Each week, we will focus on a decodable pattern. Class is limited to four learners so that each learner has the opportunity to read extensively and get feedback. 

Each class:
1. We will get to know each other with a "Super Important Question"
2. We will use a game or activity for a quick introduction to this week's sound/spelling combination
3. We will learn and practice high-frequency words we will encounter in the day's reading, using the "Heart Word" strategy, which focuses on using the sounds we do know, and remembering the ones that are "tricky."
4. We will read together the week's decodable book. Each learner will receive quick, positive, encouraging feedback.

Please note: Purchase of the Whole Phonics series is NOT required to participate in this class. However, learners who would like to practice outside of class, or who prefer physical books to reading on the screen, may wish to purchase Level 1, 2, and/or 3 readers from https://whole-phonics.com/.

Week of September 30: Short U (Lvl 1)
Week of October 7: Short E (Lvl 1)
Week of October 14: NO CLASS
Week of October 21: Short A (Lvl 2)
Week of October 28: Short I (Lvl 2)
Week of November 4: Short O (Lvl 2)
Week of November 11: Short U (Lvl 2)
Week of November 18: Short E (Lvl 2)
Week of November 25: NO CLASS
Week of December 2: Short A (Lvl 3)
Week of December 9: Short I (Lvl 3)
Week of December 16: Short O (Lvl 3)
NO CLASS THE WEEKS OF DECEMBER 23 and 30. New stories will be posted by December for the new year.
