讀給我聽 - 大聲朗讀 一對一閱讀練習

Twenty minutes of reading aloud helps your learner in so many ways.  Sometimes, families can find it difficult to find that time daily.  This class offers an alternative for busy families.  Let me help you and your learner make this daily goal.  Building a habit of reading 20 minutes a day is benefit to help create confident, lifelong readers.  

This class would be perfect for the confident reader who is excited about reading aloud and wants to share their love of reading.  It would also be great for a reluctant reader who needs more practice building their reading skills, in a positive and encouraging environment.  

In this one-on-one class, I will actively listen to your learner read.  Prior to the class time, please share what book(s) or chapter(s) the learner will be reading.  Uploading a copy of the reading material would be very helpful.

Due to the different needs of learners, the structure of the class could vary, but here is a basic structure:  

Two minutes or so – Prepare for reading.  Discuss book or chapter title, make predictions, discuss why this reading material was chosen, etc.  

20 minutes or so - I will actively listen as your learner reads.  This section will vary greatly.  Some learners will benefit from reading without interruption.  Others will benefit from answering comprehension questions, practicing fluency skills, decoding unknown words, or practicing any other needed skill.  

Two minutes or so- This section will also vary.  Learners may share their thoughts about the plot or characters, answer comprehension questions, practice a needed skill, etc.
