適合初學者到中級程度的 Python 程式設計（基於文字的編碼）

This course will teach students how to begin to code in Python. It is suited to students who have not coded in Python before (but who do have an interest in learning to code). Rather than coding to produce a visual output (i.e. colorful shapes and backgrounds), students will produce a text based output (which is how actual programmers code). The following topics will be covered in depth with students: 

1. Introduction to Text Based Coding in Python: Students write their first program in Python, making use of the print() function and string data types. Students then progress to learn about what variables are and how they can be used to store and manipulate data. 

2. Calculations in Python: Students perform calculations in Python and understand and use different logical and mathematical operators which exist, some of which include //, MOD, >, < and %

3. Data Types & IF Statements in Python: Students understand and use the different data types (Integer, Boolean, String and Float) which exists in Python. They also convert between different data types when coding calculations in code that makes use of Selection (IF Statements). 

4. Creating and Using Procedures and Functions in Python: Students learn the difference between functions and procedures and begin to pass parameters into them. They understand how procedures and functions allow them to reuse code without having to write unnecessary lines of code (thus becoming more efficient programmers)

5. Creating and Using Loops in Python: Students understand how WHILE Loops can be used to create efficient code. 

Each lesson in this course is structured like those taught in school i.e. Starter, Main Activities, Plenaries and Homework. Students will be provided with digital worksheets which are accessible via Google Drive. They will also have access to my teacher powerpoint which will be displayed on their screens via Zoom as a new skill is covered.
