This 3 day camp is designed to inspire students to stretch their thinking and learn new hobbies.  In each of three classes of this camp we will explore activities that involve math and reasoning skills. Solving puzzles is a life-long pass time enjoyed by many.  The activities are fun and students are motivated to get involved. 

During the FIRST class of the week we will learn about logic puzzles and rebus puzzles. Students will learn the basics of each type of puzzle.  Extra puzzles will be offered for students that want to try to solve them on their own before the second class of the week. 

During the SECOND class of the week students will be introduced to pre-algebra skills through math problems that utilize pictures to represent numbers. The students will learn strategies to determine what number is represented by each picture item. Extra puzzles will again be offered for students to solve independently before the third class of the week. 

During the THIRD class of the week we will explore several different secret codes and cyphers. Students will learn to read secret messages using secret cyphers.  They will also have the opportunity to write secret messages of their own. We will try to decode each other's secret messages.  

Between classes, students are encouraged to post their solved puzzles and answer questions that require the puzzles to be solved.
