Looking for an introduction to digital art or just curious about what you can create using the Procreate app? Join me for this beginner friendly exploration of Procreate! *Please note that at this time, Procreate is only available for Apple devices. Students MUST have the Procreate app installed on their device prior to class to be able to take it. It's ok if students need to use the same device for both Zoom and Procreate. On day one, we will explore the color menu, brush/eraser menu, practice using and manipulating layers, and explore the options in the adjustments menu. We will also learn how to save and share our art. On day two, we will create a custom color palette, customize a brush, practice using the selection tool, and learn shortcuts for common actions. By the end of our two days, students should feel comfortable navigating Procreate's different features and be able to create a piece of art using at least two layers. Students are encouraged to ask questions or let me know if they are having trouble at any time! I share my screen throughout class so students can see exactly how to navigate the app and can follow along in real time. I pause between steps to give everyone a chance to complete them and love seeing what students come up with.

Students will need an Apple device with either Procreate or Procreate Pocket installed. Procreate ONLY works with iPads and is $9.99 in the Apple app store. Procreate Pocket is slightly less robust but can be installed on iPhones. It is $4.99 in the Apple app store.

Hi! I'm Mrs. Huey and I teach elementary and middle school aged kids how to draw and animate on iPads using the Procreate app. These classes are a fun, safe place to foster creativity, showcase artistic expression, and let learners be their most authentic selves.
In my classes, we gather together to explore the far reaches of our imaginations. Whether drawing an under-the-sea waterscape, animating a prehistoric sauropod, or taking creative license with a hand drawn selfie, everyone's ideas and personalities are welcomed.
I've been working as an elementary school teacher in private, public, and charter schools in Northern California since 2009. Prior to that, I earned a B.A. in communication with a minor in environmental science and spent some time working in the public relations industry.
When I'm not teaching, I split my free time among many different interests! I like to run, hike, travel, take nature photos, play guitar, read, write, and practice yoga.評論
