**Please look at the dates of the classes and see if the class is running once per week or 4 days in a row as some weeks are subject to different schedules** Do you want to learn how to draw digital fashion designs? Do you want to learn about various tips and tricks for Procreate? Do you want to learn shading and highlighting techniques? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this camp is for you! You will love this camp where we draw various digital fashions in our own style. In this camp, students will view various fashion designs on social media and web browsers. We will also use croquis (credit to Google), which are premade fashion sketches of a model. In this class, students can interact with myself and one another as much as they like. This camp will allow for learners to share their art at the beginning of class and throughout each class. The first day of class, we will start with introductions and students will have an opportunity to get to know one another before we start with our fashion desings. Then, Ms. Allison will mirror her screen on Zoom and students have the option to follow along with Ms. Allison's fashion designs or create their own throughout the week. Students are encouraged to be creative and develop their own original digital paintings. Students will learn about the following techniques/functions and more throughout this four day class: -Layers -Clipping Masks -Blending Modes -Blending techniques -Use of images from web browsers as textures -Various Brushes -Magic wand tool A possible schedule, which is subject to change based on the pace of the students, is outlined below: Day 1: Introductions, look at fashion designs, learn how to use the croquis and create designs based around a possible theme of trendy or personal preference or vote Day 2: Look at fashion designs and create designs based around a possible theme of animals or personal preference or vote Day 3: Look at fashion designs and create designs based around a possible theme of elegant or personal preference or vote Day 4: Look at fashion designs and create designs based around a possible theme of florals or personal preference or vote Ideally, it is STRONGLY recommended that students have a basic understanding of Procreate for the iPad prior to enrolling in this class, which entails knowing where functions are located and experimenting with the program, understanding layers, and accessing the Outschool classroom. Please consider taking Ms. Allison's ongoing classes or beginner Procreate classes prior to enrolling in this camp. Although, all students are welcome to participate in the camp, and Ms. Allison always meets students where they are in their digital art journey. I am a very laid back, passionate, patient, friendly, and encouraging teacher who cannot wait to meet you! **Procreate on the iPad or iPhone is required for this class. Welcome! If you are looking for a friendly, kind, patient, and interactive teacher for your children, you have come to the right place. I'm so excited you are here! I am looking forward to engaging with your children and teaching digital art.
I have been a school psychologist in various school settings since 2013. As a school psychologist, I evaluate cognitive, academic, social/emotional and behavioral strengths and needs of children in order to help them learn. Therefore, I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent students. I graduated from Temple University with an Educational Specialist Degree (Masters+45 Credits) in School Psychology, and I attended Penn State University for my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Business focus. While in college, I took numerous art education courses. I have led various social/emotional groups for children in schools, and I have also taught art and drama classes at a summer camp.
I am passionate about working with children and families. I am creative and art has been a hobby of mine growing up. I have experience with numerous art mediums, and I have worked with preschool through twelfth grade students. I believe in the power of using art to gain social-emotional skills. Art can teach us how to problem solve, self-regulate, engage in flexible thinking, and help us see the beauty in imperfection. We can also help one another through thoughtful ideas and constructive feedback. As one student said, “I never knew I could create something like this!”
I value getting to know all students I work with, learning names, and ensuring that all students are happy and engaged. I believe all students can learn, and I am very inclusive and loving towards all students I work with. I make accommodations and modifications for students when needed, such as adjusting projects, repeating information, individualized assistance, and moving at different paces. I encourage creativity and flexibility in self-expression.
I have an eleven-year-old lab/terrier mix pup who I love, and she may make a personal introduction during our sessions! I enjoy exploring countries and learning about different cultures; I have been to Israel, Greece, Canada, and Mexico, and I lived in Michigan before moving to Pennsylvania. Can't wait to work with you and your children!
Please message me about any classes you are interested in and we can find a time to do them. I go back to my full time job after Labor Day but would love to provide classes after 5pm EST or on the weekends! I will also have some scheduled on the weekends! Looking forward to hearing from you!
