#confidence For 15 years I have been teaching and have a passion for helping students become better readers. Each child I have encountered is unique and has their own needs. In this session, I will work with your child on reading comprehension. Before class I will ask you what some of your student's interests are so that I can tailor our text to meet their interests. Students are more likely to learn when they are engaged and interested in the topic. We will begin class by reading the text and then we will discuss it. I will be asking directed questions and teaching your student important life strategies to help them answer them. Your student will leave class with tools to help them as they read other texts. You may sign up for multiple sessions if you want more in-depth instruction that builds on other lessons. Questions and strategies will vary based on learner but may include- ** Characters in the story and how characters influence the story ** How the author structures a text ** Identifying main idea (informational texts) or theme (literary texts) ** Relating the text to real-life situations and/or other texts ** Point of view and how it impacts the text

Hi there! I am so excited to be here and offering both technology courses and ELA themed courses. I have many great options coming to you as I build more classes.
I have been a teacher for 15 years and have taught from Kindergarten- 8th grade in public schools. In these experiences, I have taught all subjects but am the most energized and passionate about teaching ELA (reading, phonics, vocabulary, etc.). Additionally, I am a Microsoft Innovated Educator Trainer and have a lot of training and teaching experience with Microsoft. I have a master's degree in Learning and Technology.
My belief is that students who feel good learn best. Students who feel valued by their teacher and feel like they are an integral part of the class want to participate and engage in the materials. Building relationships is key to success.
Dogs make me so happy! We currently have four. They are always by my side and eager for all the love they can get. I have two amazing teenagers and a hard-working husband. I look forward to developing a relationship with you and your child!評論
