課堂經歷
For those students who are just beginning to learn about the piano, we will start with the basics. We will learn about different kinds of notes and rhythms, hand positions on the piano, basic terms and words, as well as the music alphabet and the names of the keys. Next, we will learn to read music on the music staff. As we progress and learn, we will figure out how to play chords and scales, as well as develop our ability to sight read new music and recognize different notes and sounds just by listening. Throughout this process we will play songs in different styles and by different composers, some new songs and some familiar standards. The goal of the class is to introduce the student to a whole world of music and peak their interest toward a lifetime of studying and enjoying both the piano and music as a whole.

Hello! I am Mr. Alan!
Since I first started banging on the piano as a toddler and singing at the top of my lungs, I have always loved music. The first chance I got, I started taking private piano lessons and continued those all the way to college. Anytime there was a chance in school to be involved in something musical, from marching band or jazz band, to theater and chorus, I wanted to be a part of it.
It is my goal as a piano and music teacher to help each student find the same love of all things music that I have always had, and be able to enjoy and use their knowledge of music the rest of their life.
I live in Tennessee with my beautiful wife, my fun and energetic 8 year old daughter, my crazy Halloween-loving 4 year old son, and my sweet and cuddly newborn son who all love to sing and have glowstick dance parties together. :)
