In this private tutoring class, the student and I will work together to improve their reading skills. Prior to the first class I will discuss your main concerns for your learner and determine what our focus will be.  The first class I will conduct a reading assessment to determine your child's reading strengths and weakness.  If your main concern is decoding, I will use the assessment data to determine an individualized reading program that will focus on phonemic awareness (hearing sounds), phonics, blending, and sight words. We will practice skills in isolation and then apply them to books.  If your main concern is comprehension, we will practice various reading comprehension skills. In addition to weekly tutoring session, your learner will also have access to my reading a-z classroom with 1000s of books at multiple levels. This class will be tailored to your child's needs and interests.
