I grew up with a pianist father and violinist mother, and spent hours in childhood sitting under the grand piano while my dad played. I began piano lessons myself at age five, and really can't remember a time when I didn't know how to read music or play it. I've been teaching piano and violin on and off for twenty years, but harp is a more recent endeavor for me. It is quickly becoming my favorite instrument, and I'm very eager to share my excitement with students!

Students will make the best progress if they can practice their harp skills as often as possible, such as 15 minutes most days. They would practice the skills that we had learned in the previous class, using assigned resources.

I have experience as a special education teacher and am always ready to adapt the lessons to a student's particular needs! My area of expertise is autism, but I have worked with many students with a variety of needs.

Students can come with no experience at all, although previous piano or other music lessons would give them a head start in understanding how to read music for the harp.

I will provide PDFs of sheet music and exercises, particularly if we choose not to use a method book.
