"What topics will I cover?" I will learn about YOUR child and find out their interests so that I can integrate that into their education of learning English-that's the beauty of one-on-one lessons! I get to tailor-make the class, design it just for YOUR child and this makes me so excited (can you tell?!) I also will see if they need more concentration on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, speaking in a conversation using proper grammar, reading, writing, and then if necessary, I'll spend more time on that particular thing, though I will teach all.

This is an English as a second language course. In this class we will cover conversational English and as a native English speaker, the student learns how to speak as someone who speaks English as their first language. This class will be an individual lesson teaching basic English or more advanced English depending on the child's level, wiith an emphasis on pronunciation and student talk time. We will learn English through speaking, practicing pronunciation, drawing, playing games, fill in the blanks, Assessment Worksheets  and more. 

We'll start class learning to say "hi" and introduce ourselves. We will discuss how we feel and what we did that day as well as questions such as what we ate that day to encourage free talk and USING COMPLETE SENTENCES WITH PROPER GRAMMAR. For those who don't know enough to speak in complete sentences, we will learn BASIC ENGLISH WORDS.

We'll work on how to PRONOUNCE  words correctly, too, through TPR so students who need extra help with this will have an easier time!

Outside props will be used such as flashcards, stuffed toys, books, Kahoot quizzes (parents do not need an account and the student does not log in by themselves) and more to keep the lessons fun and interesting. As I get to know the student, I will learn their interests and will also learn where we need to focus on their English, whether that is grammar, conversation, or building their vocabulary, and I will incorporate their interests into the curriculum. I also may use flashcards sometimes to teach math, colors and shapes and practice English skills. After learning new vocabulary, we'll use the new words in conversation. Students will have opportunities to ask and answer questions as they learn to engage in English conversation with the instructor.  

 My top priority is finding the positive in every child. The goals of the class are education combined with having fun.
