加拿大私立社會研究 2/3 年級 - 人與環境

O'Canada! This private 6 week course will explore Canadian Social Studies, focusing on People and Environments, the Political and Physical Regions of Canada (based on the Ontario and Alberta Social Studies Curricula, grades 2 and 3). This course does not explore Canadian History, Heritage or Identity. 

This course uses a combination of discussion, lecture, activities and short videos. Learners will be asked to share their thoughts and opinions and will be encouraged to participate as much as they are comfortable. I have a friendly and relaxed teaching style and will work to encourage interaction. 

Schedule:

Week 1: Canadian landforms and landform regions 
Week 2: How land is used for various purposes - connections between natural environment and employment industries
Week 3: Short and long term effects of different types of land use 
Week 4: Measures taken to reduce negative impacts of land use 
Week 5: Comparing and contrasting global communities: Canada and Finland
Week 6: Comparing and contrasting global communities: Kenya and Australia


Our weekly topics are subject to change depending on the needs of the class and the timing of lessons.
