Learn to play guitar from an experienced teacher who gives YOU the choice of what to learn (Acoustic, electric, fingerpicking, improvisation, more/less music theory, etc). Unlike most other guitar teachers, I am COMPLETELY flexible - I will teach you what you want to know. If you aren't sure yet, we will follow my very successful lesson plan until you do. It's all about helping YOU get where you want to be on the guitar. 

I have been playing electric and acoustic guitar for more than 20 years, performing privately and in bands on stages all over the U.S, and I bring that experience and love for guitar with me to every lesson. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, I can help you become a better musician in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We won't cover things you already know, so every lesson will teach you new things. 

My biggest focus is helping students to quickly learn to play songs and enjoy the instrument. I begin with basic chords and include just a little music theory so students understand what they are playing but don't get lost in the technical side of music. Playing guitar is supposed to be fun! 

After that, students and parents get to decide the direction of the lessons. If you want to learn more music theory, tablature and chord charts, we will do that. If you prefer to focus more on learning songs, fingerpicking, and performance techniques, that's great, too. Or, if you want to be a Guitar Hero and learn how to solo on electric guitar, we can to that, too!

No matter what direction you choose, I will teach everyone essential chords, strumming, alternate picking, fingerstyle, staccato and legato styles, as well as basic music theory. How far you want to pursue each of these is up to you. 

As lessons progress, I can also teach you about how to care for your guitar, how to evaluate a new guitar, the basics about pickups, amplifiers, modelers, recording, effects pedals, etc. You get the benefit of my 20 years of experience with all kinds of guitar-related equipment.
