課堂經歷
In this 8-week course, students will learn about the 8 principles of art: contrast, emphasis, repetition and pattern, variety, proportion and scale, rhythm and movement, balance, and unity. Each week students will learn about one of these elements and look at famous artwork and artists that incorporate these principles. Students will be asked about what they see in the artwork and have a discussion about what they think the topic of the week means and how they would use it in their art....
Students will improve their understanding of the 8 principles of art: contrast, emphasis, repetition and pattern, variety, proportion and scale, rhythm and movement, balance, and unity. Students will continue to develop skills in artistic expression and artistic decision making.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!

Materials needed every week: Pencil, eraser, white drawing or mixed media paper Week 1: Black paper, colored paper, exacto knife or scissors, glue Week 2: Black permanent marker, watercolor paint, cup of water, paintbrush, paper towel Week 3: Black permanent marker, scissors, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 4: Colored paper, scissors, glue Week 5: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (colored pencils or crayons) Week 6: Colored paper, white paper, scissors, glue, full body picture of student moving printed out, paperclip, markers or other drawing materials Week 7: Black permanent marker, coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons) Week 8: Three pieces of paper, student's choice of medium
