In this four week flex course, students will be introduced to basic math skills while working at their own pace.  I (the teacher) will upload weekly videos explaining the topic of the week, as modeling different strategies to use when learning different math skills.  I will then provide a weekly assignment for students to complete and upload to the classroom!  I will also use visuals in my lessons to help accommodate students who may need it.

      Week 2: Addition: Meet Gus the Plus and Learn to Add.
      Week 3: Subtraction: Meet Linus the Minus and Learn to Subtract
      Week 4: Greater/Less Than/Equal to.

Students will be able to communicate through discussions, and will be expected to upload their complete assignments weekly.  Students will use these uploaded assignments in their discussions. 

I'll open a weekly discussion forum for students to share their successes, ask questions, and expect interactions between each other in the process. Students are required to engage in discussion not only with the teacher but with each other as well.  After students upload their weekly assignment, they will then be required to write and/or post a video of themselves to describe what they made.  (For example, for ten frames, students can write a sentence (parent help if needed) on how many items they drew in their ten frame. -- "I drew three circles in my ten frame.")
